At AKL we understand how a person copes is best explained from their own unique viewpoint and not by someone else looking in. It is important to be aware of how people experience their own world because this is what their behavour is based on.
As individuals we have our own drive to develop and become satisfied with our lives. We are mainly responsible for what happens to us and we are able to change and adjust to circumstances if given the right conditions.
At times we lose touch with what we actually think and feel because of the pressure on us to fit in with what others expect of us. In many ways it moves us away from what makes us a unique individual.
Our therapists will help you to focus on feeling significantly more positive, to move away from what others think and encourage you to become less dependent on others evaluations of you.
